1. Introduction

Khetivaala (“ખેતીવાલા”, “we”, “our”) is a free agricultural marketplace app for Gujarat farmers. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, why we use it, and your choices. By using the app, you agree to this policy.

2. Data we collect

Phone number — for OTP login via Firebase Authentication.
Profile — name, village, taluka, district, address, pincode (stored in Firebase Realtime Database).
Listings — text, price, photos you upload when selling (Firebase Storage + RTDB).
Device — FCM token for push notifications; basic analytics via Firebase/Google Play Services.
Bookmarks — saved posts stored locally on your device (Room database).

3. How we use data

Provide login, listings, bazaar prices, and notifications.
Display your contact info on ads you publish (mobile number to buyers).
Moderate content and keep the platform safe.
Improve the app and fix errors.

We use Google Firebase (Auth, RTDB, Storage, Cloud Messaging, Firestore), Google Play Services, and government open data (Agmarknet via our backend). Each provider has its own privacy terms:

We do not sell your personal data. Listing information you choose to publish is visible to other app users. We may disclose data if required by law.

6. Retention & deletion

Profile and posts remain until you delete them or request full account removal. See Delete some of your data or Account deletion below.

In the app

Listings: Go to My Posts (તમારી પોસ્ટ) and delete individual ads.
Photos on a listing: Edit the post and remove images before saving.
Bookmarks: Open Bookmarks and remove saved items (stored on your device).
Profile: Open Profile and edit or update your name, address, village, taluka, district, or pincode.

Request deletion by email

If you cannot delete certain data in the app, email khetivaalahelp@gmail.com from your registered number (or include it). Use subject: Delete my Khetivaala data. Describe what you want removed. We respond within 30 days.

How to request deletion

Email khetivaalahelp@gmail.com from the phone number registered in the app (or include that number in the message).
Use subject line: Delete my Khetivaala account
Include your registered mobile number and name as shown in your profile.

We will verify ownership and process your request within 30 days. You may receive a confirmation email when deletion is complete.

Data that will be deleted

Firebase Authentication account (phone login)
Profile information (name, address, village, taluka, district, pincode)
Your marketplace listings and uploaded photos
Push notification tokens linked to your account

Data stored only on your device

Bookmarks are saved locally on your phone. To remove them, clear app data in Android settings or uninstall the app.

Data we may retain

We do not sell personal data. We may keep minimal records only if required by law or for fraud prevention, and delete them when no longer needed.

7. Security

We use Firebase security rules, HTTPS, and industry-standard practices. No method is 100% secure; protect your phone and OTP.

8. Children

The app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

9. Changes

We may update this page. Continued use after changes means acceptance. Check this URL for the latest version.
